Marine Institute Newport
Conneally Group successfully delivered a 12-week contract located adjacent to the Marine Institute’s main administration block in Newport, Co. Mayo. The project involved the full demolition and reconstruction of an approximately 90m² structure, completed to the highest environmental and safety standards.
The works began with the careful demolition and compliant removal of the existing roof, walls, floor, foundations, and associated materials, while retaining both the neighbouring concrete tank and adjoining building. During the construction phase, new reinforced concrete foundations were poured, and the superstructure was built in accordance with detailed design specifications. The completed structure incorporated the installation of two external electrical sockets and five bulkhead lights to enhance functionality and site safety.
Despite challenging logistics due to a narrow access route and restricted working area, the project was delivered efficiently and with minimal disruption to the public and nearby properties. Stringent traffic management, biosecurity, and environmental controls were implemented throughout. Acting as PSCS, Conneally Group ensured full compliance with health, safety, and waste management requirements, with all materials disposed of through licensed facilities and a comprehensive Safety File compiled on completion.
