Project Description: This complex public infrastructure project at Heuston Station involved refurbishment of the main public toilet facilities within a live operational train station environment. The project increased capacity and accessibility through extensive demolition of existing toilet blocks, cleaner stores and changing rooms, followed by construction and fitout of new ladies/gents toilets, cleaner stores, and a fully compliant ‘changing places’ facility. Critical project management included installation and maintenance of temporary toilet blocks throughout the contract duration, protective hoarding around the work site, and specialized roofing works involving removal and reinstatement of slated roof and lead valleys. The project delivered enhanced public facilities with improved disabled access and changing facilities while maintaining uninterrupted station operations.
